Manual Handling Foundation Course
Venue or In-House Duration: 3 days
This course will provide an understanding of the principles of manual handling, the process of conducting manual handling risk assessments and safe handling techniques.
On completion of this course delegates should be able to identify risks associated with their everyday tasks, understand what changes can help and demonstrate correct handling techniques.
Who should attend?
This course is designed as an introduction for staff delivering any services which involve moving and handling at any level. It is also an excellent refresher for those who have already undertaken manual handling training. Delegates are required to be able to understand English, wear loose clothing and be able to cope with the practical activity.

Assessment and certification
Full attendance and identification is required. The day includes assessment of theory and practical skills against NBE standards.
On successful completion delegates will be awarded a ‘Manual Handling Foundation’ certificate, valid for a maximum of three years, depending on level of risk.
This should be renewed on a three hour requalification course before the expiry date.
