Manual Handling Awareness Course
Venue or In-House Duration: 3 hours
This course will provide an understanding of the principles of manual handling, the process of conducting manual handling risk assessments and safe handling techniques.
On completion of this course delegates should be able to identify risks to be considered when carrying out a manual handling assessment and demonstrate correct handling techniques.
Who should attend?
This course is designed as an introduction for staff delivering any services which involve moving and handling at any level and is an excellent refresher for those who have already undertaken manual handling training. Delegates are required to be physically fit, wear loose clothing and be able to cope with the practical activity.

Assessment and certification
Full attendance and identification is required. The day includes assessment of theory and practical skills against NBE standards.
On successful completion delegates will be awarded a ‘Manual Handling Awareness’ certificate, valid for a maximum of three years, depending on the level of risk.
This should be renewed on a three hour requalification course before the expiry date.
